The Dutch capital, Amsterdam, is well worth a stopover: plan a few days to enjoy the city, stroll through its districts, discover its canals and visit its museums. Then there’s Durgerdam: a small village on the outskirts of Amsterdam, with its pretty, colorful houses overlooking the harbor and its own special charm.
We also recommend a stopover in the historic and picturesque town of Muiden. Here you can visit Muiderslot Castle, one of the best-preserved medieval castles in the Netherlands. Finally, a little further south, on Lake Gooi, or Gooimeer, is the town of Almere. Easily accessible from Marina Muiderzand, it boasts a modern town center and numerous stores.
