Lake Gooi, a natural boating area bordered by beautiful destinations
The Gooimeer is an ideal destination for a change of scenery and a relaxing cruise by motorboat or sailboat. It’s the perfect sailing area for step into unspoilt nature, while remaining close to charming little towns not to be missed.
Looking for stopovers ideas on the Gooimeer? We recommend a visit to the town of Huizen. This is a destination not to be missed, easily accessible from both Jachthaven Naarden and Marina Muiderzand.
Huizen is a historic village where you can discover several heritage buildings, such as the Kerkelijk Gebouw. Culture buffs can visit the Huizer Museum, while others can simply browse through a few souvenir stores. And don’t miss the charming little marina, well worth a visit in its own right!
If you like rowing and other water sports, you can also sail or canoe here. And once you’ve circumnavigated Lake Gooi? You’ll be able to enjoy more sailing on the border lakes, or Randmeren.
Discover Lake Gooi with your own boat, thanks to our marinas
There’s nothing like discovering the Gooimeer with your own ship. Sailing or motoring, you’ll be able to decide on your shipping route from A to Z, as well as the ports of call and discoveries to be made. Two marinas belonging to the Port Adhoc group make it easy for you to explore the area: our marina in Naarden (also known as Jachthaven Naarden), our marina in Almere (better known as Marina Muiderzand). Each boasts an ideal location, as well as top-quality facilities for you to enjoy.
The marina of Naarden, Jachthaven Naarden
Surrounded by the Naarden forest, this marina is the chosen stopover for many boaters every year. Showers and sanitary facilities, free WiFi, chandlery and water sports stores, children’s playground, restaurant… Motorboat and sailboat owners can enjoy a comfortable stay here, while taking advantage of all the amenities. Are you planning to moor your ship at Jachthaven Naarden for a short or long period? You’ll also have the luxury of a magnificent natural swimming pool, just a stone’s throw from your boat, and the option of sleeping on site.
The marina of Almere, Marina Muiderzand
The Almere marina is another good option for exploring the Gooimeer.
Indeed, Marina Muiderzand, even though it’s located on the IJmeer, is only a stone’s throw from the Gooimeer! To reach the lake, simply sail south, passing the Hollandse Brug.
Here again, you’ll find all the services you need, as well as boating professionals who can help you with maintenance, repairs and storage. There’s a restaurant and a beach bar, and you can stock up on groceries at the supermarket just 500 meters from our Almere harbour, and in the specialty stores on the marina premises.
Finally, from the marina, you can take a stroll inland to the town of Almere. Just a stone’s throw from Marina Muiderzand, you’ll also have direct access to a kite-surfing and catamaran beach, from which you can enjoy a range of water sports.
