The Randmeren border lakes, a sailing area not to be missed
The border lakes, or “Randmeren”
In the south of Flevoland, between the old Dutch lands and the more recently created polders, the border lakes serve to separate the water tables of these two distinct areas. The Randmeren, for instance, is a group of 14 small Dutch border lakes that together form a large navigation aera, marking this separation:

On the border lakes, a wide range of activities
All together, those border lakes form a sailing aera that is very popular with boaters. Coasting along polders and typical landscapes, discovering preserved flora and fauna in the heart of nature reserves, stopping off at the beach or picturesque harbours, with the possibility of cultural visits… On the Randmeren and its shores, you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy a wide range of activities! If you’re a watersports enthusiast, the Veluwerandmeren, a sailing basin made up of the Drontermeer, Veluwemeer, Nuldernauw and Wolderwijd lakes, is a very popular place for these activities.
As you can see, there are many unique sailing areas on the border lakes, all waiting to be discovered by motorboat or sailboat! Why not take advantage of one of the marinas on the Randmeren to set off on an adventure?
